This class is designed for anyone who identifies as a father or non-birthing partner and that is expecting a baby or currently in the newborn stage (0-3mo). However, parents of babies up to 1-year old will certainly have plenty to learn from and share with the class as well.
Topics from this workshop will be taught as part of the pregnancy series at The Labour Department. More info soon.
The greatest gift you can give your baby is a happy and strong relationship between the two of you.
Becoming new parents is full of joy, but also challenges and learning curves. Relationships can be stretched and tested with the stresses of new parenthood.
This is a workshop for couples to take together. The workshop offers an important opportunity to learn together about life with a baby, life as a family of 3, and how to support each other. We will be guiding you in opening important conversations together.
We will share:
We strive to make this workshop genderless. 🌈 🏳️⚧️ All couples are welcome. We speak about primary caregivers and birthing partners, but the workshop is also valuable to couples using surrogacy and adoption.
You and your partner are about to become parents. There really isn't anything more exciting! But also, if we are being honest, you are both about to go through one of the largest transitions and challenges of your life. It's beautiful, it's messy, it's growth, and it's love. But there is SO much that no one tells you until you have to figure it out yourselves. And some of it you do just have to figure out yourselves. But when it comes to your relationship, how you understand each other and support each other during this new and stressful time, there is a lot you can learn beforehand that is really helpful. And there is a lot that can be discussed beforehand.
Over and over again as a postpartum educator I hear, "But why doesn't anyone talk about this??" or "Why didn't anyone tell me?!"
I've developed a curriculum of material that helps couples to get educated together and open important dialogues together about their transition to parenthood. Together, we will talk through it all. Topics include parenting equity, fatherhood, communication, restoring intimacy and connection, motherhood, conflict management, postpartum sex, and more. We can do it all as one full session or as two shorter sessions, I recommend two sessions. I will also be available to you by email and whatsapp for support during the days, weeks, and months after your baby arrives to answer questions, listen, and share suggestions.
About 4 hours. €250 (21% VAT included). You may invite 1-2 additional couples for an intimate workshopping experience and split the price amongst yourselves.
I also teach regular mini-workshops through Mamamoon School. If you are expecting or recently had a baby, this is a wonderful platform to get tips & questions answered on countless topics by many experts. With a monthly membership you can attend many workshops, including mine on babywearing & Love After Baby material.
